20.வெள்ளிக்கிழமை, 12 ஏப்ரல் 2019 அறிஞர்களும் கவிஞர்களும் மதியம் 2 – மாலை 6 ஏற்பாட்டாளர்: ஆட்விகா பிரைவேட் லிமிடெட் இடம்: அலையன்ஸ் பிரெஞ்சு தியேட்டர், 1 சார்க்கீஸ் சாலை 12 Apr 2019 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm Alliance Francaise Theatre, 1 Sarkies Road Adwika Pte Ltd In Aringarkalum Kavingkargalum, students from different schools compete to showcase their knowledge on key Tamil scholars and poets, through write-ups and poems. The competition aims to encourage today’s youths to appreciate their works and contributions to the Tamil language, eventually inspiring them to use the language in their daily lives. The top 5 teams will be awarded prizes and certificates. Details of the competition:
About Arinargalum Kavinargalum will consist a total of 3 parts. Part 1 (Sketch Retouch) – Each school will be given a different sketch of a famous Indian scholar or poet. Students/Contestants should then decorate/beautify/retouch their respective sketches in accordance to the scholar or poet received and hand it back to the organizers by March 31st, 2019 (It will be collected from the Tamil Teachers, upon completion). The sketch of the famous scholar or poet will be given to the Tamil Teacher within 2 days of registration. E.g If the school receives a drawing of Barathiyar, they should portray/colour/paint/decorate the sketch of him accordingly. Part 2 (Profile of Scholar/Poet) – Competitors must create a write up or profile of how the respective scholar or poet had contributed to the Tamil Language; on a separate sheet. All write-up should be in Tamil and consist of a minimum of 600 words (Write-up must be handed in along with the completed sketch on 31st March). Part 3 (Presentation of Findings on Stage) – On the day of the competition, students would have to present the completed picture of their respective scholar/poet, what they have learnt of them and the impact the Tamil Language or the Scholar/Poet has had on them; to the audience and judges. They can present through means of a skit or song or dance or even read a speech. E.g. Students can re-enact a significant moment of the scholar’s or poet’s life on how they have contributed to the Tamil language or sing out a song or poem the respective scholar or poet have given to the Tamil Language. Competitors/students will be judged on all 3 parts and prizes will be given. For Part 3, students will be given a total of 5 mins to present their findings. Each completed art and profile of the scholar or poet will be exhibited to the audience on the day of the competition.

Each school can submit up to a maximum of 3 participants to take part in Arinargalum Kavinargalum. Please take note that all participants must be current Secondary 1, Tamil Language students.
